John has set up an account at Bloodsource of Merced for our Congregation. If and when you donate blood they ask if it is going to a specific group. Tell them Congregation Etz Chaim and the "credits" will go into an account for any Congregational member to use. If a member ever needs a blood transfusion, they can receive pints of blood from our account and not be billed for them by the hospital. Donating blood is a good form of Tzedakah. Not only will you be helping out the community of Merced and feeling good about yourself, you will also be helping to lower someone's medical bills, a blessing of itself.
